Summer Term 2019

This term school parliament have been involved in the decisions about the garden.

One of the main issues which came up was the upkeep of the garden areas, daily jobs and appropriate garden rules.  It was agreed that small groups of KS2 pupils could spend time during break and lunch to enjoy and help out in the garden.  This would work on a rota basis.

it was decided that daily composting would comprise of food waste from lunchtimes and shredded paper from the office.  This could then be utilized as a valuable fertilizer for the school flower beds and vegetable plots.

Some pupils wished to use the garden for quiet time, to maybe sit and read or talk quietly.  All groups spending time in the garden would adhere to the appropriate behaviours and rules of the garden discussed by Parliament.

A friendship bench was suggested with a potential friendship ambassador to assist those children who felt lonely or just needed a chat.  After careful consideration it was decided that a friendship bench would be more beneficial in the main playground.
