The lessons and videos you will need this week can be found split into Year 5 and Year 6. Please select your year group below to access the work.
The tasks for this week are the last in this unit and can be done across this week and next week if you want. Last week you started looking at the agreed classification system for animals and plants and had a go at creating a key to identify plants.
This week you are extending this learning by identifying the physical characteristics of buttercups; classifying different species of earthworm living in the local environment and completing a quiz where you suggest the appropriate classification of living things based on their observable characteristics.
Please have a look at my plan below and follow each of the activities set out for you to do. Again use your Active Learn log in details to access any screens or videos that you need.
Here are two extended English lessons to complete, ideally on Monday and Tuesday morning. Both lessons are suitable for both year 5 and year 6 as they contain a variety of elements, so that you can complete as much of them as you can - but please do not put yourselves under any pressure to complete them all.
In the first session you can explore the start of 'The Paradise Garden' by Colin Thompson and then listen to a reading of this amazing story. You can answer some questions and write about the extraordinary illustrations.
In the second lesson, you listen to the story again and then make notes about the main character. Imagine a special place that you know or would like to know and write about this magical place.
