The lessons and videos you will need this week are once again split into Year 5 and Year 6. Please select your year group below to access the work.
This week we start our new unit which is focusing on how we classify living things.
You will start by thinking about simple ways to group living things before moving onto more complex systems. At the end of the session you will be discovering how scientists go about classifying the huge range of amazing living things which occupy our planet.
Please have a look at the plan and follow each of the activities set out for you to do. Again use your Active Learn log in details to access any screens or videos that you need.
Here are two extended English lessons to complete, ideally on Monday and Tuesday morning. Both lessons are suitable for both year 5 and year 6 as they contain a variety of elements, so that you can complete as much of them as you can - but please do not put yourselves under any pressure to complete them all.
In the first session you can read a variety of news stories that feature people who have completed inspirational challenges during this 'lockdown' period of time, starting with Captain (now Sir) Thomas Moore from nearby Bedfordshire.
In the second lesson, you look closely at a picture entitled 'Game Changer' by the street artist Banksy. This artwork was revealed in Southampton Hospital. There are some picture prompts to read which you can then then answer. You also can go over relative clauses and then look at more examples of Street Art.
