Our lovely Oaks,
Just a note to say we hope you are keeping well and making the most of the sunshine.
We are missing your smiley faces and having the chance to talk to you about all the things you are doing. Don't forget your parents can email us to let us know what you are up to or send photos so we can keep connected.
Select a range of activities from this page to keep you busy this week as well as doing all the things you enjoy. There will be no home learning set for the next 2 weeks over Easter so make time to do all the things you love with your families.
Love and best wishes,
Mrs R and Mrs P xx
Reading - aim to try and read for at least half an hour a day - it can be a book, magazine, anything of your choice.
Spellings- your weekly spellings, word searches and cursive handwriting sheets are in your home learning packs. Arrange a weekly time when you can be tested.
Maths
There are lots of maths activities below which you can work on over Easter if you want to keep your brain busy! Have fun and do as much or as little as you want.
For this week Year 5 are looking at short and long multiplication while Year 6 are focusing on conversion of measures.
Year 5:
This is an opportunity for you to use your multiplication skills and develop them into written short and long multiplication. To help you with the process there is a video of a teacher (not Mrs Penniall or myself!!) showing you how to do each step.
Complete the maths mastery task from activelearn.
Then have a look at the power points and the tasks you are set to do. Complete as many of the activities as you feel confident to do.
Year 6:
There is an opportunity here for you to do lots of practical tasks around g to kg, ml to l and mm/cm and m. Work around the house as well as in the kitchen.
Once you have completed some practical activities have a go at the tasks below. There are some power points to help you.
Just complete as many of the tasks as you feel confident to do.
Science:
This week is all about the melting process!
Please have a look at the screens on Physical changes and melting and boiling which you have been allocated on Active Learn, using your log in details. I know some of you are struggling to access the resources on Active Learn so I have made copies for you to look at below.
You will also need to look at the plan of practical activities as well as recording information on paper or in one of the books that you brought home in your pack.
Lots of messy fun to be had in the kitchen with this!
