Week Beginning 8th June

EYFS Lessons:

Hello everyone, we hope you and your families are all well.

This week your home learning is set via Oak Academy online learning, the lessons are made by qualified and experienced teachers.

Each lesson will be delivered via a video which will contain activities to practise learning along the way. There may also be extra activities to do when the video has ended, this will help your child to embed and further practise their skills. These activities will be in the 'next activity' tab in the bottom right hand corner.

Phonics teaching will also be contained within these lessons.

We hope your child enjoys these inspiring and informative lessons. I would love to see what you get up to and the amazing things you create.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Take care

Miss Walker

English

For English this week you will need:

This week, we are going on an adventure to Outer Space. We begin the week by learning about The Solar System that we live in. Afterwards, we design our own planet for our own aliens to live on. Your teacher for this will be Miss Hughes.

Monday: Lesson 1      Just click on the picture to get started!

Monday: Lesson 2

In today’s lesson, we listen to a story about aliens. We think about our favourite part of the story and justify our opinions by answering ‘why’ questions. We also think about the moral of the story and consider why it is important not to judge people based on their appearance.

Monday: Lesson 3

In this lesson, we remember the story we heard yesterday and draw a story map to help us retell it. We think about the appearance of the character as we plan to write a character description later this week.

Tuesday: Lesson 4

In this lesson, we design our own alien to live on our planet. We think carefully about its appearance and label the different parts of our alien. Give your alien a name and bring it along to tomorrow’s lesson, where we write a character description!

Tuesday : Lesson 5

In this lesson, we bring our aliens to life! We write sentences about their appearance, focusing on sounding out the words independently. After the lesson, you can create your own aliens using playdough, junk modelling or paint.

FOUNDATION SUBJECTS

For your foundation learning this week you will need:

Wednesday: Lesson 1

In today's lesson, we are going to be thinking about polite table manners and what constitutes a healthy meal. The key areas that this lesson links to are personal, social and emotional development, physical development and expressive arts and design. Mrs Garrard Will be your teacher today.

Click on the lesson page to begin!

Wednesday: Lesson 2

In this lesson, we introduce our topic of the week, which is growing. We learn how plants grow through hearing the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’. We then move on to think about how we have grown as humans. This lesson links to understanding the world, shape, space and measure, and self-confidence and self-awareness. Miss Hughes is back again for this lesson!

Wednesday: Lesson 3

In this lesson, we will use dry food items or outdoor items to create mosaic art. I wonder what food you will choose to use? Can you find dry food that is lots of different colours? The three key areas that this lesson links to are expressive arts and design, physical development and mathematics. Miss Sidenius will be teaching this lesson.

Wednesday: Lesson 4

In this lesson we will combine different media in order to create a representation of a beanstalk. The three key areas of development that this lesson links to are expressive arts and design, physical development and understanding the world. Mrs Garrard is back for this one!

Wednesday: Lesson 5

In this lesson, we are going to use fruit and vegetables to create food printing art. I chose to make a caterpillar, some chicks and some monsters. What will you make with your printing? What colours will you choose to use? The three key areas that this lesson links to are expressive arts and design, understanding the world and physical development.

Miss Sidenius is back again for this lesson.

Zara is teaching this one too!

Friday: Lesson 4
